Is Greeley, Colorado a Good Place to Live?

Greeley, Colorado is a city of about 100,000 people located just 50 miles north of Denver. Founded in the late 1800s, this town was once an agricultural community best known for its production of sugar beets. Over the years, it has grown into a dynamic city that fosters community, art, outdoor recreation and so much more!

Like any thriving Colorado city, Greeley is home to a number of award-winning breweries; WeldWerks Brewing Co., Wiley Roots Brewing Company, and Crabtree Brewing Company are just a few of the local favorites! This, paired with the variety of restaurants that can be found sprinkled throughout the city, make it a particularly great place to visit with friends & family, meet with colleagues or unwind at the end of a long week.

In addition, Greeley hosts several events and festivals throughout the year, including rodeos, music festivals and county fairs. The Greeley Stampede, Weld County Fair and OktoBREWfest draw in residents and visitors from around the state and beyond!

Greeley is also home to the University of Northern Colorado, a public university that is ranked amongst the top ten universities in the state due in part to its top tier programs in both nursing and education. This school also boasts Division One athletic programs that also act as a regional draw.

Lastly, Greeley offers easy access to parks, trails, and community green space. The South Platte River and the Cache La Poudre River flow right through town as well, giving those seeking outdoor recreational adventure plenty of opportunity to get outside!
