Is Fort Collins, a Good Place to Live in Colorado?

Often considered one of the best places to live in the U.S, Fort Collins, Colorado is home to approximately 200,000 residents who enjoy high quality living and numerous amenities.

Built around the thriving downtown area, lovingly called “Old Town”, this city has a little something for everyone. Local restaurants, shops, concerts, museum exhibits, and community events are all available for students, families and professionals alike to enjoy year-round. In addition, the downtown area has been mindfully renovated over the years. Historic elements including storefronts with architecture dating back to the 1800s and a still-operating trolly car are just a few of the ways Fort Collins has preserved the “old” while expanding into the “new”.

Fort Collins has also made a name for itself as Colorado’s Craft Beer Capital. It is home to 20 award-winning craft breweries as well as Anheuser-Busch, one of the largest breweries in the world! Odell Brewing Company, New Belgium Brewing Company, and Equinox Brewing are just a few of the local favorites.

Outdoor enthusiasts appreciate the city’s proximity to the Rocky Mountains, Lory State Park, Horsetooth Reservoir, and local natural areas. Hiking, biking, skiing, swimming, and rock climbing, are just a few way residents spent their free-time.

Finally, Fort Collins has a commitment to environmental protection. This comes as no surprise considering the city is also home to Colorado State University, the largest university in Colorado and a leader in sustainability. CSU draws in people from all backgrounds with its renowned programs in veterinary medicine, agriculture, engineering, and business. The university’s Division One athletic program is also a regional draw.
