Buyer Roadmap

Buying a home is a huge step: it’s about your current needs and long-term goals. There are several steps in the buying process and we need to work together as a team to meet your desired timeline for the best possible outcome. You have our whole team working for you! We encourage you to trust our advice about the current real estate market and maintain open communication through the entire process. Take a look below at the Buyer’s Roadmap to gain a better understanding of what you can expect from start to finish.

1. Meet with Us

Meet with The Holsten Team to gain a better understanding of how we operate and to ask any questions you may have.

2. Make a Wishlist

Should we mutually choose to work together, it’s important I know exactly what you’re searching for. I encourage you to put together a list of features you would like in your next home, and then decide which are “must-haves” and which are bonus items.

3. Choose a Lender

Your lender plays a critical role in the buying process. For that reason, you absolutely must find a good, solid fit for your scenario. Local lenders may be able to match deals you find online, and you can actually meet in person with them.

4. Collect Market Information

I will provide insight into the current real estate market. This will give you a solid framework from which to understand home prices, interest rates, and timing to make sure any offer you submit is fair and competitive.

5. Search

I will provide insight into the current real estate market. This will give you a solid framework from which to understand home prices, interest rates, and timing to make sure any offer you submit is fair and competitive.

6. Make an Offer

My job is to advocate for you. I will advise on price, objections, concessions, contingencies and negotiate your terms to ensure the best possible deal.

7. Schedule an Inspection

Your inspection is quite possibly the most important safeguard as you buy your new home. I highly recommend you hire a professional home inspector to assist with this task. The cost depends on the size of the home and additional services like a radon test or sewer scope.

8. Monitor Contract Details

Once an offer is accepted, you can expect great communication with the team. We will stay on top of your dates and deadlines together and make sure necessary tasks are completed. You will be hearing from me, my assistant or another member of the team at least twice a week and often-times more.

9. Own Your Home!

Congratulations, you’re a homeowner! Even after the contract is closed, the team is still available if you have any questions or concerns.
